Scope of Procurement:
BOF procures Raw Materials, Machinery and Tools on regular basis from local & foreign sources to meet the requirement of annual plan and production in both local & foreign currency.
Method of Procurement:
BOF usually invites Offers from suppliers/manufacturers/local agents of foreign principals / dealers publishing tender notice in the Daily Newspapers. But in small procurement limited tender is invited distributing tender schedule among the enlisted suppliers. In case of procurement of Strategic Items tender is restricted to the BOF enlisted and suppliers enlisted with DGDP in Group P-4 only. So watch for the newspaper advertisements, notices in BOF and DGDP Notice Boards.
Method of Enlistment:
BOF invites application from genuine firms, manufacturers, indentors and dealers for enlistment as suppliers. Beside that, any firm enlisted with any unit of Army, Navy, Air Force and DGDP may apply for enlistment and their applications are considered.
Raw Materials Procured:
Major raw materials that BOF procures in bulk are: GMCS Strips, Brass Strip, Pure Lead, Steel Core, Plastic Materials, Wood, Propellant, PETN, various types of High Speed & Carbon Steel Rods & Sheets, GI Sheet, Acids, Chemicals, various types of Tools and various components/sub-assemblies of ammunition etc.
